Finally, here it is. Mechanopolis.

I took a few months working on this after school and on the weekends, and I finally felt I was done with it. I had been developing these characters and their world, some time ago. And then I heard the song, "Despertar" and the story played out to it perfectly. So I instantly just had to animate it. And while this isn't the best flash animation by any means, nor is it my best work, I have to appreciate it. I really like the characters and the whole concept in general, and the way all the ideas kinda came together.

This is the biggest animation project Ive tackled since Ive begun working in Flash, and I have to admit, it didnt come out the way Id envisioned it. Maybe one day once Ive gotten better, Ill remake it as a directors cut or somthing.
The art style is kind of a mix of the 40s, 50s, and 80s. As you can see some things are a bit more cartoony and whimsical, similar to that of Walt Disney's early cartoons from the 30s. Then other things are a bit more realistically styled. In my head I originally envisioned a blend between Dr. Seuss, Dark City, 1940s cartoons, and Flapjack.

Yeah, vastly different. But the story was simple; Couple has fallen out of love. Boy wants to win back girl. Robot is not able to love. Robot trys to find a way to win over girl robot. Robot and Boy want the same thing. Then YAY they can both get what they wanted in the end.
Everyone = happy.

Regardless of the outcome, this was incredibly fun to make, and it gave me alot of helpful experience in animation, and I am a wiser man because of it.
